Coastal Partners provides a Coastal Risk Management Service to Havant Borough Council, Portsmouth City Council, Gosport Borough Council, Fareham Borough Council and Chichester District Council that reduces the risks to people, and the developed and natural environment from flooding and coastal erosion. This area includes three major harbours of significant environmental importance and over 246km of coastline.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our Client and Engineering Service as a Coastal Engineer/Coastal Project Engineer (Project Manager – Asset Management Team), on a 12-month fixed term contract.
We look after a significant number of coastal assets to manage flood and erosion risk to our communities. These differ widely in terms of age and condition and include groynes, defence structures, public areas and navigation aids, all with differing maintenance and investment needs.
We are seeking a project manager to evolve our strategic approach to our asset management delivery, to drive consistency and efficiency across our Partner Authorities. Key responsibilities will include the planning and oversight of data collection in each of our delivery partners, considering inventory and data collection standards and systems. The role will review and help to develop optimised asset data approaches and systems, to provide us the evidence to make sound investment decisions and to manage asset risk.
Alongside this, the role requires you to perform a project manager role for capital and revenue projects, delivering through our Framework contractors and consultants. All our contracts are managed using NEC4, and experience of managing NEC Contracts is desirable. This role also supports our wider Client and Engineering Service and may involve supervision of more junior team members, supporting our asset management annual work and in the delivery of our Beach Management Plans.
You will need a degree in Civil Engineering, Water and Coastal Management or related discipline. Experience in maintenance or GIS would be advantageous. This role requires frequent outdoor work, site work and attendance at our offices, blended with home working. You will need to be able to drive.
Salary: £27,254–£51,356 per annum (Career Grade D–H, dependent on experience and qualifications). 37 hours per week.
