Your Role in the Story

Help protect Mauritius’s lagoons and ocean life through education and outreach. As a Marine Eco Guide, you will spark curiosity across all ages through hands-on activities, aboard sessions, and interactive workshops.

What Your Days Would Look Like

No two days look exactly the same, but here’s a good idea of what you’ll be doing:

• Animate & facilitate: lead engaging educational workshops, interactive sessions, and hands-on activities for children and school groups at the Marine Discovery Centre (MDC) and through the Little Marine Discovery Centre & Ekol’O programs.
• Onboard & centre awareness: conduct educational and marine conservation awareness sessions both on board boats and at the MDC for hotel guests, visitors and the local community.
• Guided marine exploration: conduct guided snorkeling sessions for guests and youth groups, sharing insightful scientific and marine ecosystem knowledge in a fun, accessible way.
• Daily operations: assist in the daily running of MDC activities, creating educational tools, and contributing to ongoing marine conservation efforts.

You Might Be a Great Fit If…

• Degree or background in Marine Biology, Environmental Science, or Education.
• Passion for teaching and engaging with both children and hotel guests.
• Proficient swimmer/snorkeler with basic diving certification (min. Level 2).
• Fluent in French and English, with good spoken Mauritian Creole.
• Creative, organised, and proactive team player.
• Driving or skipper license is a strong plus.

Additional requirements noted by the employer: more than 1 year of work experience in Marine Conservation; more than 2 years of experience in Hospitality; more than 1 year of work experience in Pedagogy.
