About the Role
The Environmental Organisation iSea is looking for a person with a degree in Biology or a related field to join its team and support the implementation of research activities and fieldwork focused on the protection of aquatic ecosystems.
Main Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Participating in fieldwork activities.
- Conducting underwater surveys and sampling.
- Collecting, recording, processing, and conducting basic data analysis.
- Mapping and managing spatial data using GIS.
- Preparing and maintaining the necessary field equipment.
- Contributing to the preparation of technical reports.
- Supporting educational, information, and awareness-raising activities.
- Collaborating with organisations and local communities.
- Participating in the organisation and coordination of activities and fields.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Biology or a related field.
- Valid autonomous diving certification, at least Advance Open Water.
- Good knowledge of GIS.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Availability for frequent travel and multi-day fields within Greece.
- Ability to work under demanding field conditions and flexible working hours when required.
- Good knowledge of English (C2 level).
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent tools.
- Ability to organize, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities.
Desirable Qualifications
- Speedboat operator’s license.
- Drone operator certification.
- Previous experience in marine research, biodiversity monitoring, or environmental programs.
- Experience in the collection and analysis of scientific data.
- Knowledge of statistical tools or data analysis software.
- Experience in environmental education activities or working with local communities.
- First aid training/certification.

Duration and Compensation
The position will be offered under an independent services contract for a period of 12 months. Compensation, invoiced as a provision of services, is €1,550–€1,800 per month, plus VAT, depending on the qualifications of the successful candidate.
