About IDAEA-CSIC

The Institute of Environmental Assessment and Water Research (IDAEA-CSIC) is an environmental science institute dedicated to studying the human footprint on the biosphere. Its research focuses on major environmental challenges, particularly water quality, water availability, air quality and the impact of pollutants on ecosystems and human health. Founded in 2008 as part of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), IDAEA has been awarded the "Severo Ochoa" Centre of Excellence distinction, recognising its scientific leadership and global impact.

About the Project

We are looking for a motivated and highly organised Project Manager to join the coordination team of the Horizon Europe project SEATRACETracking marine pollutant cocktails and their ecological impact with advanced analytical, technological and toxicological tools.

SEATRACE is an international research project funded under HORIZON-CL6-2025-01-ZEROPOLLUTION-05, focused on understanding marine pollutant mixtures and their ecological impacts through advanced analytical chemistry, technological innovation and toxicological approaches.

The selected candidate will work closely with Dr. Sandra Pérez, project coordinator, and Dr. Nicola Montemurro, within the Environmental and Water Chemistry for Human Health (ONHEALTH) group at IDAEA-CSIC in Barcelona.

The Role

The Project Manager will play a central role in supporting the scientific coordinator and the coordination team in the daily management of the SEATRACE consortium.

Main Responsibilities

  • Monitoring project progress, deadlines, deliverables, milestones and reporting obligations.
  • Assisting in the preparation and submission of technical and financial reports to the European Commission.
  • Organising consortium meetings, online meetings, workshops and project-related events.
  • Preparing agendas, minutes, follow-up actions and internal management documents.
  • Supporting budget monitoring, amendment procedures, risk management and quality control of project outputs.
  • Maintaining updated project documentation, partner information, reporting templates and internal databases.

Essential Requirements

  • Excellent command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Capacity to work in an international, multicultural and multidisciplinary environment.
  • Ability to prepare clear written documents, meeting minutes, reports and internal communications.
  • Good command of Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Highly Valued Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of project management tools and collaborative platforms.
  • Experience organising meetings, workshops, scientific events or stakeholder activities.
  • Background in science management, environmental sciences, international relations, public administration, economics, communication or related areas.
  • Knowledge of Spanish will be considered an asset.
