About this call
Blue-jobs is gathering profiles of motivated professionals interested in collaborating with us on opportunities that may arise in the coming months.
This is a call for experts for future assignments, rather than recruitment for an immediately available position. The scope, start date and level of involvement will depend on upcoming projects and business needs.
About Blue-jobs
Blue-jobs connects talent with opportunities in the blue economy. Through our career platform, recruitment services, training and consultancy activities, we help professionals develop their marine careers and support organisations in finding the skills they need.
We also conduct market intelligence studies and provide blue economy consultancy services to international clients, supporting informed decisions on skills, employment and sector development.
We are a small company with a strong sense of purpose. Working with us means contributing across different activities, taking ownership and bringing energy, ideas and passion to our mission.
Your role
You will support the development and delivery of European and nationally funded projects, alongside consultancy assignments covering topics such as the blue economy, blue skills, careers, employment and training.
The role combines project management, research, proposal development, communication and business development. We are looking for someone who can manage ongoing work while actively identifying opportunities to grow our impact.
Main responsibilities
- Manage and deliver projects: Support work planning, partner coordination, meetings, deliverables, reporting and administrative follow-up for European and national projects.
- Develop proposals: Contribute to project concepts, consortium building, work plans, budgets and funding applications.
- Identify funding opportunities: Proactively monitor relevant calls, tenders and programmes, assess their suitability and propose opportunities for Blue-jobs.
- Contribute to communication: Write and edit blog articles, project updates, website content and social media posts, making technical topics accessible to different audiences.
- Conduct research and market intelligence: Analyse developments in the blue economy, skills needs, career pathways and employment trends to inform our projects, consultancy assignments and services.
- Support business development: Identify potential clients and partners, contribute to service offers and help turn promising ideas into concrete collaborations.
- Bring new ideas: Suggest improvements, new services and business areas aligned with the Blue-jobs mission.
- Represent Blue-jobs: Participate in project meetings, workshops, conferences and other relevant events, including travel when required.
What you should bring
We are looking for a proactive, motivated professional who believes in the Blue-jobs mission and wants to contribute to its development.
You should bring:
- Experience in managing European and/or nationally funded projects, ideally with involvement in proposal preparation and reporting.
- Knowledge of the blue economy and an interest in blue skills, careers and workforce development.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage several tasks, priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent written and spoken English and Spanish. Both languages are mandatory.
- Strong writing skills, including the ability to produce clear proposals, reports and communication content.
- A commercial mindset: the confidence to identify opportunities, engage with potential clients and partners, and contribute to business growth.
- Autonomy, sound judgement and a willingness to take responsibility for your work.
- Curiosity, creativity and the initiative to propose solutions and new directions.
- A collaborative attitude and flexibility to contribute across different areas of a small company.
We want someone who brings their own ideas, questions and initiative, and helps shape what we do next.
Desirable experience
- Residence in Spain, given our national projects and activities.
- Experience in skills development, employability, recruitment, education or training.
- Familiarity with funding programmes relevant to the blue economy.
- Experience in market intelligence, consultancy, client relations or developing new services.
- An established network within the marine and maritime sectors.
Working with us
- Remote work from a European base, with agreed, fixed working hours to support coordination.
- Opportunities to contribute to varied projects at national and European levels.
- A close working relationship with a small, mission-driven team.
- Space to take ownership, introduce ideas and develop new areas of activity.
- Training in preparing successful funding proposals will be provided.
- Travel approximately once per month, depending on project requirements, including activities in Spain.
Remuneration and contractual conditions
Remuneration, contract type, workload and duration will be discussed with pre-selected candidates and will depend on the scope, funding and requirements of upcoming projects.
How to apply
Applications must be submitted through the Blue-jobs platform, including your CV and a tailored cover letter.
A cover letter is mandatory. Applications without a cover letter, or with a generic cover letter, will not be considered. Applications submitted outside the Blue-jobs platform will not be considered.
In your cover letter, please explain:
- How your experience and skills meet the requirements of this role.
- Why you believe in the Blue-jobs mission and want to work with us.
- How you could contribute to our activities and bring added value to the company, including any ideas or opportunities you would like to develop.
